Internships

Learn the work by doing the work.

SGT Foundation takes interns onto live programme work across Delhi NCR and Bihar — classes, field visits, records, research and writing. You are given a mentor, a defined piece of work and a set number of weeks. Finish it and you are issued a completion certificate that anyone can check for themselves.

Choose a placement, then tell us about yourself.

These are the placements the programme team currently has open. When one closes it comes off this page rather than sitting here out of date — so what you see below is what you can actually apply to today.

Step one · The placement

Duration, start date and stipend are shown exactly as the programme team posted them. All three are confirmed with you in writing before you begin — if anything changes between now and then, you hear it from us first.

Step two · About you

The programme team calls this number.

Optional. Useful if your college needs the placement letter in writing.

Optional, but it helps us match you to the right work.

Ask a question firstYour reference appears on the next screen. It confirms the application was recorded — the programme team finds you by your name and mobile number.

What it is

An internship here asks something of you.

This is not a certificate you collect after a morning's visit. Every placement carries a real piece of the foundation's work, and someone is depending on it being done.

Work that was going to be done anyway

You are handed a live piece of programme work — case notes, survey rounds, camp records, an article for the annual report — not an exercise invented to keep an intern busy.

A named mentor

Each placement lists the person who supervises it. They set your brief, answer your questions and are the one who signs off at the end.

A fixed number of weeks

Placements run for a stated duration with a stated start date. Both are agreed with you in writing before you begin, so you can plan your term around them.

11 programmes, run since 2007 in the memory of Educationist Shri Ganesh Thakur. A placement sits inside one of them or supports them — read what each one does on the main website.

At the end

A certificate anyone can check.

Forged internship certificates are a real problem in this sector, and they devalue the ones people actually earned. So the foundation issues its certificates with a verification token on them.

Issued on completionFinish the placement, have your mentor sign it off, and an internship completion certificate is issued in your name and recorded against your application.
It carries a tokenA short code is printed beneath the QR on the certificate. It belongs to that one document and nothing else.
Anyone can verify itA recruiter, a university or your own department can type that token into our verify page and see what was issued, to whom, when — and whether it is still active or has been revoked.
Live on this site

Try it before you need it.

The verification page is open to everybody — no login, no account, no calling the office to ask whether a document is genuine. If you already hold a certificate, an ID card or an 80G receipt from SGT Foundation, check it now.

Still deciding

Not sure it is for you? Ask us first.

A placement is a real commitment on both sides, and it is far better to ask now than to withdraw halfway. Call, write, or send a question and someone will answer it properly.

Talk to us

The quickest route is the phone. Ask for the programme team and say you are calling about an internship.
